Privacy Policy

SnapVat is built with privacy as a core principle. We collect the minimum data necessary to run the service, and we do not sell, share, or monetise your personal information in any way.

What we collect

SnapVat collects only two categories of data:

  • Receipt and expense data — the financial information extracted from receipts you scan, including vendor name, date, amounts, and VAT figures. This data belongs to you, is stored securely, and is only used to power the app features.
  • Anonymous analytics events — we use Firebase Analytics to collect non-identifiable usage events such as "receipt scanned" or "export tapped". These events contain no personal information, no device identifiers, and cannot be linked back to you as an individual. They are used solely to understand how features are used and to improve the app.

What we do not collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information.
  • We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data.
  • We do not use advertising trackers or third-party marketing pixels.
  • We do not access your camera roll or photos beyond the receipt image you actively choose to scan.

Subscription and billing

SnapVat offers a Pro subscription at €4.99 per month, which auto-renews monthly and can be cancelled at any time through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Billing and payment information is handled entirely by Apple or Google — we do not collect, store, or process your payment details directly. We receive only confirmation of your subscription status (active or cancelled) to unlock Pro features, which include unlimited receipt scanning, Excel and PDF export, and advanced filters.

How your data is stored

Your receipt and expense data is stored securely using Firebase (Google Cloud infrastructure). Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not share this data with any third parties.

Your rights

You can delete your data at any time from within the app. If you have any questions or wish to request deletion, contact us at privacy@snapvat.ie.

Children

SnapVat is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you via the app. Continued use of SnapVat after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
